We gave up seeking numbers and sought a particular kind of experience.  The experience of feeling a savage take of a dominant, predatory fish.  We rarely fish using suspension nymphing techniques but rather choose to focus on stripping, swinging or tight line drifting our flies to our fish.  We’d rather be skunked than walk away with 50 small fish to the net.  We’d rather give up on the 70% of the fish in the river and focus on the dominant 30% who we hope will reward us with an aggressive tight-line grab.
